After a surprisingly warm summer in the UK, fall seems to be here to stay. It’s not ideal but I guess we all knew this had to end at some point. Although I will miss the nice weather, I prefer seeing the silver lining. I bought this rainbow sweater from the lovely local boutique I’ve mentioned before, Katie and May. The colour and rainbow design immediately caught my eye. I knew I’ d have to wait for a few weeks for the temperature to drop in order to use it. But sale season was about to end and I really wanted to have it. So now the time has come for me to wear it.
The beauty of the rainbow sweater is that you can combine it with trousers and skirts and create different outfits. For example if you use it with a pair of jeans and sneakers you can create a very casual look. However for an afternoon out visiting a local museum I decided to give the outfit a girlier twist so I combined it with my tulle skirt. In order to be comfortable to walk around, I complimented the look with a pair of flat shoes and a cross body bag.
Although I kept the shoes quite neutral so as not to steal the sweater’s thunder, I couldn’t help but add an accent of colour with my bag. Plus I hadn’t used it in a while and it was the perfect occasion that I didn’t need to carry many things around with me. Thinking about the outerwear the parka was inevitable due to the occasional sprinkles. At least it looks quite good with the rest of the outfit, don’t you think?
