Pleats and embroidery
by Thomai Papathanasiou

Pleats are one of the most classic fabric manipulations. Just think of the Ancient Greek statues. The style has definitely been around for a while now. However it never gets old and you can always rely on them.

Although this is not the first time I am using this skirt (like the rest of the pieces of this outfit), it still seems to get me compliments. And to think I coincidentally found it during a sales hunt in Zara last season and I was on the fence about buying it!

Even though nothing from this look is new, the combination of them creates something fresh and special. This embroidered sweatshirt, which happens to be yet another random find of sales season,  is a statement piece of my wardrobe and I love how unique it feels despite the fact that I bought it in a mass fashion store. It was actually around it that this look was created.

I knew I wanted to wear the sweatshirt so I chose a blue palette. I don’t usually wear heels, especially on weekdays. However I figured they would be the ideal pair of shoes to break all the “blueness” of my look. My feet suffered a little bit more than usual. But don’t we all have to make sacrifices in order to create the outfit we are happy with?
